Podcast: Fraternity Talk and More

By Payton Manis; Interview by Dakota Caldwell The Bulldog Beat podcast started out with introductions from Keljian Thomas, a sophomore who is studying English, Religion, and philosophy with a minor in music and is a part of the honors program. He is the president of the Tennessee Wesleyan fraternity. Next is Tavaris Brown, a freshman who majors in psychology, who is also a member of the fraternity and head of the communication department. This means he makes all the social media posts for Tennessee Wesleyan’s fraternity. They talked about what made them choose to come to TWU, and they talked about their stories. Then they gave shout-outs to their friends, and after the shout-outs, they nominated two more people to be on the podcast: These individuals are Seth Smith and William McCormack.

Podcast: Ranking Baked Goods

By Hunter Cookston; podcast recorded and edited by Hunter Cookston and Neus Rosas On Wednesday morning, Hunter Cookston and Neus Rosas were delighted with sweet treats from Prof. Hulet’s wife. While they were intended for the professors of Tennessee Wesleyan University, the two decided to make a taste test video. It was a fun podcast full of food, rankings, and judgement.

TWU LAX upset win

Story by Dakota Caldwell, Lexie Lee and Ash Johnson A top 10 road win doesn’t go unnoticed at Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Bulldog Beat reached out to TWU’s men’s Lacrosse team for an interview on the season-saving victory. Two starting LAX Dawgs, Kennedy Moore and Jameson Koch, broke down their season thus far. Their underdog victory over NAIA #10 Webber International University gave them their seventh win of the season and kept them alive, staying eligible for the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament. Moore and Koch highlighted the difficulty of their conference opponents, which makes their upset win even more impressive.

Bulldog Beat Podcast – Spring Edition

By Dan Thornton In this episode of the Bulldog Beat Podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing two members of the Tennessee Wesleyan baseball team, Marco Martinez and Parker Stinnett, as well as Baylie Davis from the softball team. I had a great time chatting with them about their lives, athletic careers, and even some personable questions. Marco shared with us how he got into playing baseball and the challenges he has faced as a student-athlete. Baylie also talked about her journey in softball, including the moment she realized she wanted to pursue playing softball at the collegiate level. Parker shared with us how the grind was from junior college to the beginning of his career at Tennessee Wesleyan. They all talked about the importance of balancing their academics and athletics and how it has helped them in their lives. At the end of this episode, I asked them some fun questions, such as what are five things they cannot live without. They gave us a wide range of answers from Cookout to sandals. Overall, it was a great conversation with the inspiring athletes who have a bright future ahead of them.
